FEEDING TODDLERS

Part of Chloe and Shannons Story

As we all know feeding toddlers is not as easy as you would think, it is vitally important to lay the foundations of a good and well balanced diet. Unfortunetly this is also the time when your little toddler may also develop food fads. (for example some days Chloe and Shannon will eat nothing more then sweet foods, and leave their dinners in favour of a bannana!!)

This page will give examples of recipes that you could make for your toddler(s) and also explain the importance of a varied diet.

A BALANCED AND VARIED DIET

Make sure that you give your child a selection of foods in the four main food groups :-

1. Cereal and filler foods :- include breakfast cereals, bread, pasta, potatoes and rice.

2. Fruit and Vegetables :- Choose from fresh, canned, frozen or dried fruits and veg, a good guide would be three to four helpings a day.

3. Meat or alternatives

4. Diary products :- include 1 pint of milk per day or a mix of milk, cheese, yougurt and fromage frais.
